The story in one paragraph

By July 1, 2030, homes on 10 acres or less with a septic system inside the Indian River Lagoon program area must connect to central sewer if it is available, or upgrade to an enhanced nutrient-reducing (ENR) system. The area covers parts of Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie and Volusia counties, and our count from state records puts about 101,000 septic parcels inside it. The rule changed in 2026, an appeals court lifted a separate federal ban on new septic permits in the North IRL in October 2026 without touching the state deadline, and Brevard and Indian River counties have money to help. Septic 2030 is a free guide with an address check that tells an owner where their home stands.

Who runs this guide

Septic 2030 is an independent homeowner guide operated by WhenLeads, a division of DV8 WEB LLC, Lake Park, Fla. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with FDEP, the Florida Department of Health or any county or city. Homeowners never pay. When a homeowner chooses to send a request, it goes to a licensed local septic company, which may pay us for that introduction. More on the about page.
